Amniotic Fluid
All samples must be labelled with 2 unique identifiers identical to the request form. Samples that do not meet this minimum requirement will NOT be processed.
Specimen Collection
Amniotic fluid samples should be collected into sterile, screw-capped tubes.
Tubes can be provided by IGENZ if required.

Transportation Temperature
Samples should be transported at AMBIENT temperature.

| G-banded metaphase analysis | 15 days |

| FISH (Urgent) | 24 hours |
Please note
Blood stained amniotic fluid specimens will be accepted but the result may be compromised due to the high risk of maternal contamination.
